"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings and Awaiting your Prompt Response

Sir/Madam

I guess you are fine and doing pretty well. I write to let you know my reason for contacting you specially seeing we do not know each other before now or have ever met anywhere but I was lead in my spirit to contact you for good. I am the son of Late John Owusu the Corporate Affairs Manager Obuasi Mine of AngloGold in the Ashanti Region, who was run over by a company vehicle as my father together with a group of company officials and journalists were fleeing from rampaging illegal miners who were pelting them with stones last year Before his death he told me about his deposits with which I should use to look after my self and my Mother if anything should happen to him. And should not go back to his immediate family as I was his out of wed-lock child which no one but only him and my Mother knows of.

Presently, my mother and I are here in Accra, Ghana for some legal paper works so as to be able to successfully make good claim of the deposit . Therefore we want you to partner with us, lecture us on how best we can invest in your country and as I told you we really wanted to relocate so as to be able to start another life over there. My father told me it is dangerous to invest within this location to avoid prying eyes, due to his position in the community and in the mining industry as well as bad economy and political instability facing this side of African countries, that is why we want to invest abroad. For your foreign assistance, my mother and I have agreed on what to do for you on your acceptance for partnership and support in actualizing this goal.

I have never disclosed this to any person apart from you and my mum, so you have to keep this matter as it is. More details will be given to you upon your response. Meanwhile, when replying this mail, please be kind to share your full contact details including phone number so I can have more private conversations with you.

Thank you and God bless you richly.
