"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your Fund Claim

Hello dear,

I am a bank manager here in Cambodia. I contacted you for a reason, one of my late customer have the same name as yours.
He died 4 years ago and left the sum of 10.7 million United States dollars in his account. Since then no relative have come to
claim his money.

I think we can work things out so that the bank can release the money to you, we can give 20% to charity, 40% for me and
40% for you. We can do good with this money than allow the bank to send to the Government account as unclaimed fund
because the Cambodia government officials will just share the money and spend it on luxury cars and women, but we could
use this money to save lives if you agree to work with me.

I will email you further details and how to go about it if I receive your response.

Best regards,

Bryan Yap
