"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

My Dear Friend,
=

My name is Dr. Adesuwa Abati, a cousin to Mr. Reuben Abati, the former Sen=
ior Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan=
GCFR, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I pray this letter meets you in =
good health. I was directed to contact you by Dr. Abati confidentially th=
rough this letter. As you may know ex-President Goodluck Jonathan lost the =
last year election concluded on March 28, 2015 presidential election to Pre=
sident Muhammadu Buhari. Since the loss of the election to the opposition A=
PC candidate President Muhammadu Buhari and the inauguration of his regime,=
there has been persistent persecution and witch hunting of the ex-preside=
nt and his former ministers, aids and close family members by the current a=
dministration of President Buhari to the extent that individuals are throw=
n into detention without proper investigation .There is also an ongoing pro=
be of all sectors of the economy including the alleged controversial missin=
g $20billionUSD Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which the f=
ormer Minister of Finance Dr Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and former Minister=
of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke both of whom are curre=
ntly in house arrest as they were accused by President Buhari to have faile=
d to provide adequate answer in relation to the missing funds.
=

As a result of this development, Mr. Abati had instructed me to seek y=
our partnership in a confidential assets exchange, which ex-President Jonat=
han mandated him to transfer out of Nigeria prior to the election. The poss=
ibility exist that the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari=
might probe him since his former ministers are already under intense scru=
tiny .Should that eventually happen ,then part of the said funds will be us=
ed to prosecute the legal battle and other expenses, which may occur during=
such prosecution, while the rest amount will be invested into lucrative bu=
sinesses in your country as our partner .From the ongoing persecution and w=
itch hunting of former ministers ,it is certain that sooner than later the =
searchlight would be beam on ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. Hence, our goa=
l is to be prepared. Consequently the total sum of $350million USD cash has=
been deposited with a security firm here in Accra Ghana under a special ar=
rangement by me as the depositor. I therefore wish to seek your sincere and=
urgent partnership and cooperation to move the funds out of the security f=
irm as soon as possible, to foreclose the seizure of the funds. In further=
ance to this opportunity, you will be rewarded with 30% of the $350milion, =
while 5% will be set aside to cover all administrative expenses that might =
occur during the transaction.
=

If you are interested to partner with us to invest the said funds and y=
ou find this proposal suitable to you, kindly reply for full details .I wil=
l appreciate your urgent response very much, and will equally implore you n=
ot to take undue advantage of the trust I have bestowed on you. Conclusivel=
y, to fast track this transaction I will advise you provide me with your mo=
bile telephone number so that we can discuss more confidential issue and mo=
ve into action immediately. You can easily reach me through email correspon=
dences via my secure email address: adesuwabati@gmail.com, Thank you.

Sincerely,
=
