"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

attention Beneficiary, i know that this letter will be surprisinig one to you ....firstly, i will like to introduce myself formally as Mr Gray Pitts, the Bank Area Director of the BARCLAYS BANK UNITED KINGDOM, you are being officially contacted by me because your inheritance funds were re-deposited into the UK suspense Account of BARCLAYS BANK PLC UNITED KINGDOM, lastweek because you didnt claim as the rightful beneficiary in our corresponding bank. well known to all, this morning i was alerted by my secretary that three men were at my office reception waiting to see me and let them in, they said they were here to collect inheritance bill sum of ($5,500,000 USD) Five Million, Five Hundred thousand US Dollars. which righfully belongs to you.these foreigners actaully claimed this beyond reasonable doubts, at this development i asked who authorised them to UNited Kingdom for collection of this payment and they told me they were here on your behalf to collect the funds. it was a surprise because we didnt get any notice from you. Bank didnt understand why yiu sent those men to claim the funds on your behalf. kindly clearify us on this issue as soon as possible before we make the paymen to those men that came on your behalf, youre required to call or mail the Bank.
