"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings

Greetings;

My name is Gregory Kruger, a distinguished investment adviser with offices spread round the globe and headed by the office situated in South Africa known as the G. Kruger-Rand Investments. I had to contact you through this means because of an urgent need to secure the money in my possession before the transition of power in this country which is very imminent. In brief for now, I am holding in trust the sum of USD25 million in a secret account for a client and will give you more detail about this fund once I get your response and interest to work with me. I urgently need a capable individual/business that will work with me in securing this fund which must be transferred out of this country ASAP. The transfer of the fund to the recipient will be conducted on a legitimate platform while I assure you that the fund is clean and will pass through any monetary institution positively without any hindrance. Therefore, kindly get back to me indicating your interest afterwhich I shall give you more information/clarification on the source of the capital considering the fact that am only holding the fund for the owner who's a renowned politician in one of the countries in Africa.

So I beg to stop here for now and look forward to hearing from you in indication of your interest.

~Gregory Kruger
