"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Beloved Friend

Dear Beloved Friend,

I hope this mail meet you well, please take your time to go through it and respond as soon as possible.
I am Mrs Nicole Benoite Marois and I have been suffering from ovarian cancer disease for almost two years now.  My doctor broke the news to me recently that I have a very short time to live as the disease has progressed to a terminal stage.

I am from (Paris) France but have been living in Benin Republic with my husband before his demise few years ago. My husband and I before his death were into gold exportation and have been being quite well before he died. We were happily married but had no children.
I have a deposit of $4.5 Million US Dollars with Eco-Bank here in Benin republic and I instructed the bank to transfer the fund to you as foreigner that will apply to the bank as the beneficiary.

The bank will release the fund to you once you are able to send the required documents to them.  I will send you the documents upon getting your response. My life dream has been to build an orphanage home for the less privileged, so you will assure me that you will use part of this fund to fulfill this dream by building one or donating to an orphanage home in your country for my soul to find rest.

Hope to hear from you soon as my life ticks away.
Your fairly friend,
Mrs. Nicole Benoite Marois
