"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

My greetings to you,

My name is Senator Ms. Jewel C H Taylor, the ex-wife of the former Liberia, President and Warlord. Having sourced your contact, I felt compelled to involve you in this noble project out of the few contacts I've got. Although we have not met before but fate has a way of uniting people. My choosing you is borne out of sheer conviction that our relationship will eventually transcend business/personal in which you and your family will benefit immensely.

This is a true life situation and it happened to my family.

I promise you that you shall never regret any assistance you will render to a family in real need. Please, note that this is not a scam of any kind and I am very sure that you will discern if it is a scam or not during the course of our communication

Actually, I got your contact information from an Internet search and deem you trustworthy to solicit for assistance from you. Please feel free to ask me questions you may deem very necessary based on this proposal. My name is Senator Mrs. Jewel Taylor, the estranged wife of the immediate Liberian past Head of State, Mr. Charles Taylor. You must have heard over the media reports on our political asylum as a result of outright and cheap blackmail that led to loss of Power in Liberia. I would want to have good confidence in you and I hope you will not take undue advantage of my problem to harm me. I have no doubt about your capacity and goodwill to assist me in receiving in to your custody (For Safety and Safekeeping) the sum of Twenty Five Million US Dollars (25M USD).

This money is currently kept in a Safe Deposited Box (S.D.B) with a Security Firm which I will disclose to you as a matter of your commitment to me on this plea for assistance. Fortunately, our family lawyer had secretly protected this transaction from the notice of the investigators and have strictly advised that the funds be urgently move to oversea of any trust worthy but ANONYMOUS foreign family friend without delay for security reasons in realization that my husband will be face with the same fate that saw the end of Saddam Hussein.

Our entire local and international business outfit is under serious surveillance by security agent. This money is our only hope of surviving with my children. I have therefore decided to compensate your good self with 20% of the total fund, when you finally cleared the deposited box from the security firm and lodge in your private account, 10% is set aside for any expenditure that you may incur in the course of executing this transaction.

Be rest assured that every modality has been put in place for a smooth execution? Due to current situation in our country, it has become quite impossible for us to travel to any part of the world. I am contacting you as a matter of urgency to help, represent my family in collecting the funds on our behalf and assist in investing it for us in a viable business in your country. If you are interested in assisting me to protect my family's interest without having evil mind against or intention to take advantage of this, For obvious security reasons, it's important that you keep all our communications very confidential. Do not disclose the transaction with any body.

I await your prompt response and also look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Jewel Taylor
For the family
