"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

I am writing to request for your assistance with a URGENT and discreet
business dealings that guaranties immense benefits should you choose
to give assistance and your participation. My name is David Cheng, a
Partner and Portfolio Manager at Nine Mast Capital Ltd, a hedge fund
company based in Hong Kong.

What I propose:

These funds which sums up to (USD$9,250,000) is currently heldwith ADC
International Holdings Limited who are our prime brokers based here in
Hong Kong. These are investment funds that belonged to one of our
private client Abbot Lewis (Deceased) who passed away some 7 years
ago. The purpose of this letter is therefore to seek your support and
assistance since you have same name with the deceased and with my
inside knowledge we can work together, access and transfer money into
our possession and nobody know any better.

Further to this rest assure little or no risk involved as all aspect
of what I proposed have cautiously been conceived over time with all
