"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Cooperation

Good day. I got your contact from the online business directory and I have a proposition that I think will be of beneficial interest to you. I am the P/A of a major opposition leader in Mozambique (a South Eastern African Region country) who is presently in hiding due to being at logger head with the ruling party over demands for better integration of its supporters into the police and military as precondition of a peace deal.

The main reason for contacting you is to propose a business cooperation that will be of benefit to you and us requiring absolute trust and confidentiality , to get down to brass tacks , we need you to accommodate a large volume of funds for safekeeping . You will be handsomely rewarded for this task. We need a foreigner without any prior link to our family for security reasons. I am going to keep this short for now. If you are interested in this proposition, kindly respond back to me so I can give you further details and what is required for our trust.

Yours Faithfully
Elias Dwele
