"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attention:

Greetings! Having resumed office as the chief of staff to Mr. President, I have a good news for you today. After so many reports were brought to Mr. President regarding some of our foreign beneficiaries that has suffered in the hands of some unwise characters in the past in their quest to receive their inheritance, lottery, compensation and accumulated interest payments, which were being frustrated due to endless request for payment of taxes, fees and levies, Mr. President have deemed it necessary to use his position and office to help you out at this point.

In this regard and after so much deliberations and calculations, it was resolved that you will be paid the sum of $150,000.00 compensation now without any demand for any fee tax or levy. The only commitment, you are bound to under take is to arrange and come down to Nigeria and sign the final release order bond. Where by you can not be able to come here in person, it was resolved that an accredited attorney will sign the final release order bond on your behalf. You will be required to send to him a letter of authority (power of attorney) to enable him sign on your behalf and you will be required to pay only the signing and stamp duty fees. This is a statutory and mandatory charge that must be paid at the point of signing.

This is the information I have for you and you should reply as soon as possible so that I will know when you will be coming over for the signing ceremony or be given the details of the attorney that will act on your behalf. Note that the attorney will not be paid consulation and attorney fees as he is working under the Government and receives his salary.

Yours Truly,

Gen. David Mark (RTD)
Chief Of Staff To The President,
Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
