"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Its a good opportunity to communicate you today on a very important issue, firstly am very sorry for this unsolicited email, really, am aware that this is not a conventional way to establish a relationship of trust, but due to the situation at hand and the confidential of this medium , I have no choice.

A family member of yours ( or perhaps just a person having the same last name with you died 1997 airliner crashed,leaving behind an estate/capital of (USD12.5 Million with interest accrued till date) with Citibank(Hong Kong) where I work as an External auditor. Till date nobody has come forward as an heir or put up an application for the claim(funds).Do contact me either via my private email, for further discussions. Lastly, owing to the sensitivity of this issue, I urge you to keep this proposal in utmost confidentiality pending our discussion.
