"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I wish to know if we can work together

Hello
Do accept my apologies if my message does not meet your personal ethics. My names is Mark Anderson, I'm an accounts manager with NatWest Bank, UK. I'm hoping that this email address has not changed and that confidential business information can be shared here. Please confirm.
I would like you to stand as the next of kin to a deceased customer who made some deposits in our bank. This customer died without any registered next of kin, and as such, the funds now have an open beneficiary mandate. Fortunately enough, both of you share the same last name making it easy for to you become his official next of Kin. With my position in the bank I will make sure the entire process is legit and you shouldn't worry about anything. I know exactly what we should do and the best approach in doing that.
If you are interested to work with me, please respond via my private email address (markanderson267@yahoo.com) for comprehensive details.
Best Regards,
Mark Anderson
