"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: NEED YOU TO HELP ME INVESTMENT MONEY

I am sorry to intrude into your privacy; I am a military
man, presently on an assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan. Please I
need an assistance from you who is outside Afghanistan to help me
secure an asset of very high value to me which is is money
(sixteen Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars) i made from one
of the terrorist undercover which we raided.

We shared the amount equally and it was not known in the camp but
only 5 of us,so all our communication MUST be kept confidential
till the end of the deal. This mail is quite so unusual and can be
turned down if you do not wish to work with me, anyway if you are
willing to assist me, do get back to me, with your full
information's and passport or ID and bear in mind i will give you
35% of the total amount if you help me and i will need to buy a
property as well that i can buy.

I hope that there will not be a problem and you can stand as the
beneficiary of the amount?Due to security reason our dealing will
be with maximum discretion.

On the other hand if you do not intend to work with me, kindly
delete this e-mail. If I get no response from you after 3 days, I
shall search for another person.

I only need your help so that i can start up a new life, for now
i can not call your but can communicate to you only through
emails so that our conversation will not be monitored.

Thanks,
Cpt. James B.
