"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I Am Mr.Alfred Thomson, EVP and Head of International Banking with UTB Bank Lome, Togo. We had a foreign customer, a citizen of your country who shared the same last name with yours.He was among the death victims in the May 12, 2008 Tragedy in Sichuan province of China that killed at least 68,000 people. He was in CHINA with his wife and two sons on vacation trip and that was how they met their end.
 
This our late customer has an account with our bank totaling $7,500.000.00, since that year after his death our bank has not had anyone that comes for the claim of this fund as either his relation or even as a friend.
 
 
I am contacting you as the Account Officer to my late client, coupled with my present position and status in the bank as EVP and Head of International Banking.
