"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FROM BARR. ALTANI IBRAHIM

Greetings From Barr. Altani Ibrahim,

I understand that through Internet is not the best way to link up with you because of the confidentiality which my proposal demands. However, i am constrain to reach you through the Internet which has been abused over the years.

I'm contacting you on-behalf of a sitting senator here in nigeria whose name is withheld for security reason. I'm employed by the senator to search for a business minded and reliable partner who can handle a huge partnership investment abroad secretly for both parties mutual benefits as the state of the country is in shambles and threatened with major ethnic breakup as you might have read over the news.

I will feed you with more details upon the receipt of your reply if you think we can make a deal confidentially.

Best regards,
Barr. Altani Ibrahim
