"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Customer.

Dear Customer

I am Mrs Sarah Gonzalez

Customer service at U.S Postal service, Brooklyn, New York 11220.

We received a Bank Draft package and ownership document on your name from United Nation as your compensation payment.

The Bank Draft and the ownership document was dropped this morning in our office by a lady whom is one of the U.N Secretary and she explained to us that we should deliver it to you as your compensation payment from the U.N.

She also explained to us that your name is among those in the U.N database whom haven't received their inheritance funds for so long and that is the reason why the U.N is compensating you with the sum of $950,000.00 USD via Bank Draft to enable you deposit the draft in your account.

So all we need from you to mail you the Bank Draft package is to provide us your delivery address and phone #, including scan copy of your ID, then we will mail your Bank Draft via priority mail and Email you the tracking number.

Regard
Sarah Gonzalez
