"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your support ______

Hello,

I am writing this email to you in line with the
dictates of my office. I represent the Dame Yvonne Burgess Trust Fund
and we are impressed with your works, hence my contacting you. We want
to support and partner you in the enhancement of your works. The good
lady grantor and trust owner is Late Dame Yvonne Burgess; she was born
in England, but grew up in the USA before coming back to the UK after
marriage. As the executor of the trust, I have the good lady grantor
exclusive mandate to collaborate with any reputable person and or
organization of my choice in building a learning centre in her honour,
where youngsters between Age 12 and 21 can master tradecraft,
communication and leadership skills whilst still attending
conventional school. You will also enjoy the opportunity of turning
around the trust fund by investing part of it substantially in your
business or research. The Dame Yvonne Burgess Fund was set up in Jan
2014 and it is valued at Nine Million Eight Hundred British Pound
Sterling (GBP£9.8m) only. She became the widow of an investment banker
in 2005, while she passed away in Nov. 2016 without a child. The most
of the Trust Fund was bequeathed to her by her late husband. If you
accept this proposition, it shall be your prerogative to personally
oversee the day to day affair of the centre or you hire a hand to
assist. I advise that the centre be self-sustaining by hiring out the
facility to the public for use and sales of materials produced by the
youngsters. Again as a trustee you will further enjoy the financial
receivable deemed reasonable in the trust Act aside the opportunity of
investing a considerable chunk in your business for profit returns.
Your response is required as an acknowledgement of receipt. Thank you
for your co-operation.
