"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: Greetings!

Dearest,

Hope this mail found you in an excellent condition of health. It is really a long story, but I'm happy to inform you about my success in getting those funds transferred under the co-operation of a new partner from Japan 3 weeks ago. Presently I'm in Japan, for investment projects with my own share of the total fund.

Meanwhile, I didn't forget your past efforts and attempts to assist me in transferring those funds despite that it failed us somehow. Now, for us not to forgetting your efforts, contact Director United Bank for Africa Nigeria PLC (UBA), his name is Tony Elumelu, and his email address is (tonyelumelu@dr.com)

Note that presently i am no longer in the service of the bank, as i officially retired before i left the Country for Japan.

However, ask the UBA Director, Mr. Tony Elumelu to quickly release your fund of ($1,500,000 USD) which I kept for your compensation considering your past efforts and attempts to assist me in this matter. I appreciated your efforts at that time very much.
So feel free to contact Mr. Tony Elumelu, Director United Bank for Africa, Nigeria PLC (UBA) and direct him how to release your fund as he is looking for a way to reach too, but as a banker, he may see it as a let down to himself contacting you, considering the little interest the money is yielding to their bank, so reach him yourself as the presented beneficiary.

Perhaps, I did this out of my good will and with a lot of money in my possession; I have to offer you this sum for your compensation.

Please do let me know immediately you receive it so that we can share the joy after all the sufferings at that time. I'm very busy here because of the investment projects which I and the new partner are having in partnership.

I will also appreciate your close contact with me as well.

With best regards,

Rev. Moses Jude Ibeh
