"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello.

Hello,
Greeting to you, I am Mr. Andy Williams, account officer petroleum
products importation regulatory board Togo West Africa, We have a late
contractor from your country and has same surname with you who died
with his family on July 15th 2015, without anyone coming to claim his
fund Four Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars Only
($4,500.000.00).
Now our government wants to seize this money for infrastructure
maintenance because no one has come up for the claim. A notice has
been placed for the fund clearance on or before 20/3/2021 otherwise
the money will be confiscated. I need your cooperation to present you
as the relative to the late engineer to enable us transfer the money
into your bank account to enable us share the money 50/50 or invest it
into real estate at the same ratio instead of the government to seize
it.
I wait for your answer for details to enable us to go about it
Have a blessed day.
Sincerely,
Andy Williams.
