"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Trust you are keeping safe.

Dear Sir/Ma,

Trust you are keeping safe.

I'd like to bring to your notice a business proposal that will be very
beneficial especially at times like this. My name is Pornchai, I'm a
Banker in Thailand, but currently in New York, USA for a Seminar. You
already know, the pandemic has hit the world hard and many lives have
been lost, including entire families and relations. On that premise,
bank accounts of the deceased are currently been folded up with 100%
remittance to the bank.

I take major concern with one of our customers, James who made a Fixed
Deposit of US$16,800,000.00 (Sixteen million and eight hundred thousand
United States Dollars) as far back as February 2014 for a period of 72
months. Unfortunately, James lost his life due to covid-19
complications, as did his wife and next of kin.

My reason for writing to you today is that you share the same surname as
my late friend who left four (4) children without help and non-are old
enough to claim the funds trapped in the bank. I'm very interested in
helping out his family and you will be well rewarded as the funds will
be split 50/50.

In summary, if interested, kindly reply to this email and I will furnish
you with more details about this. This transaction will have no risks
and it is best if this matter is handled discreetly.

Feel free to contact me at any time with my contact details below. Thank
you and awaiting your response.

Best Regards,
Pornchai Chunhachinda
