"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello !

Hello,

My name is John Walter, i work with the National Audit office London.

Kindly be informed that I have an amount to the tune of $65,000,000 which was discovered to be from an over invoiced contract deals not traceable to anyone or next of kin which has been long over due for payment and has remained unclaimed.

Please note that our office has been mandated by Her Majesty Treasury (UK Treasury) to investigate and to contact the beneficiary or the surviving next of kin to the said amount for the immediate payment upon completion of required due processes.

In view of this development, you are advised to revert to me for more details as I want to present you as the next of kin to the funds for our mutual benefit and sharing ratio of 50/50.

I await your response.

Regards,
John Walter
