"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

Dearest One,

I Am Mr. Peter Frank Robert, 23 years old. the only son of Late Mr &
Mrs Frank Robert, from Benin Republic in West Africa. I want to use
this media to ask for your help in delivery my inheritance consignment
truck box into your country. I will be so glad if you can allow and
lead me to the right channel towards your assistance to my present
situation now. I'm aware that this might sound strange to you but
please, I beg you to handle this matter with the most urgency.

It is my desire to contact you based on honesty and sincerity to
assist me in delivery of consignment truck box contains $20,800,000. (
Twenty Million Eight hundred thousand United States dollars including
gold and other families valuables treasures which I inherited from my
late father Mr Frank Robert who was a Gold merchant business Man based
in Accra and Abidjan, Now i want to investment and base in your
country for my future living. My late father died in Abidjan General
Hospital. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE, He was poisoned by his
business partner during one of their trip to a destination they do
supplied goods to.

Before his death at the General hospital,he told me about the truck
box which he deposited in one of the security company here in my
country, he inform me that i should stand as next of kin when ever i
find him no more.

I found out more about this after the burial of my father,his lawyer
confronted the family with some document. My Uncles took away
everything leaving me with nothing.The whole problem started when they
found out that they can not have an access to the truck box at the
security company, I Mr. Peter have refused to sign any paper so that
they can gain access to the truck box.

As I am writing you now, I am far away from home in fear of my Uncles
who are threatening my life, I have discussed with the security
company Director and they have accepted to deliver the truck box to my
choice oversea partner but they requested to hear from my oversea
partner before they can give us instruction on how to claim the truck
box

I am motivated in contacting you and hope to gradually build trust,
relationship and confidence in you as I get to know you better.

I am willing to offer you 20% of the contains in the truck box just
for your effort input after the successful delivery of the truck box
