"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Friend

(PRIVATE & VERY CONFIDENTIAL)

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Mr.Sharif Gambo, I am a staff working with the Bank Of
Africa here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. I want you to help me to
claim the sum of Twenty Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($22,500,000) from our bank here. This fund was deposited in the bank
here by a foreign customer who died accidentally alongside with all
members of his family many years ago. Nobody has applied as the
beneficiary of this fund till now. If you are interested, you will
provide a good bank account where the fund will be remitted to because
i want the fund to be transferred out from our bank here to a foreign
bank. Please contact me immediately for us to start the transaction
either by Phone or Email. Further details about the fund will be given
to you after receiving your reply. Please know very well that we have
to hurry up our actions because the bank authority here has a plan to
deposit the said fund into the treasury of the Central Government of
this Country as an unclaimed fund, if nobody applies for this fund
before the next bank audit here, which will begin very soon. I am
waiting for your urgent reply.

Please send your reply to my PRIVATE mail box.

Yours sincerely,
Mr.Sharif Gambo
