"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Rotary Foundation Global Relief Fund

Hello,

This is to inform you that you have been randomly selected as one of the
beneficiaries of The Rotary Foundation "Global Relief Fund", in
collaboration with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; which was setup to help
business owners and individuals during and after pandemic.

Beneficiaries of the Rotary Foundation global relief fund will get up to a
maximum of $750,000 USD (seven hundred and fifty thousand US Dollars). This
is however not for personal use. Since we can't reach out to everyone in
need, the foundation can reach out through some randomly selected
individuals who can then extend the same in their various communities
through community project development schemes, creating ventures that will
help the immediate communities.

The Rotary Foundation has committed substantial resources to ensuring that
the after effects of the pandemic-induced recession on individuals,
families and businesses are reduced to the barest minimum. The Foundation
has decided to partner with other known foundations like the Bill & Melinda
Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, Warren Buffet Foundation and pledges to
support the relief fund so as to reach beneficiaries as far as worldwide.

Upon your response, we will attach a form to you for you to fill out the
form and revert to us for further processing.

Warm Regards,
Shekhar Mehta (Rotary’s president).
