"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attention,

Thank you for your response. Well, I will introduce myself to you
before I proceed with the details of the proposal, My name is
Ms.Marina Mano and I currently, work with Banco BPM Italy as the
Progetti Speciali e Monitoraggio. I must sincerely apologize for
encroaching into your privacy in this manner.I will immediately
proceed with the details of the proposal. I am contacting you
concerning an abandoned Investment sum of € 5,649,400 (Five Million
Six Hundred And Forty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred EURO) by one of our
prominent clients who happen to have the same SURNAME with you. Name
engineer Recep .

In May 2018, THE DECEASED, a foreign contractor with
SHELL ITALIA E&P SPA & TOTALENERGIES EP ITALIA SPA who came to our
bank for business discussions and investment.

He invested the above-mentioned amount in Banco BPM as advised. Upon
maturity this year, we tried contacting him but to no avail. We had to
contact his contract employers and discovered from them that he died
of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lombardy, Italy. He died without leaving
a Will and I have made several efforts to find his extended family
through his embassy without success.

I received a notice last week to provide the next of kin of our late
client as the adviser who assisted him for the Investment Account or
the funds will be transferred to the government (es-cheat) in 14 days.
In the absence of a Next of Kin, these funds will be transferred to
the Government treasury account once the time elapses. I propose that,
since you share the same SURNAME with the deceased depositor, I will
like you to stand in as his next of kin so that the fruits of this
man's labor will not end up at the bank's benefit. I will give further
details for your proper understanding of your acceptance of this
proposal.

When I get your response, I will let you know the steps you
need to take and the sharing ratio of the funds between the both of us
on completion of the deal. Treat this proposal with utmost
confidentiality and urgency for 100% success. For more information
