"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello, how are you?.  My name is Mr. John Tien (Regional M/D) of
Northwest Self Storage, Oregon, US. Sorry for informing you about your
ATM package that was abandoned in our storage facility by one delivery
man by the name Mr. Robert.  Your email address was indicated at the
back of the envelope/parcel, just 2 days ago we confirmed the
authentication of the ATM CARD from the issued Bank that it's your
USD3.850,000 Million compensation payment under UN. Please get back to
me now on my private email so that your package can be delivered to
you via our service or delivered to the Issued Bank depending on your
choice, only waiting for your confirmation and also reconfirmation of
your full name, phone number, and your current address. If everything
is the same with the information we gathered from the issuing bank
(UBA Bank) then the delivery of your package will take place
immediately.
