"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Hello.

Hello. As you know, every day we are attacked by insurgents and car
bombs, killing innocent people every day.

During one of our rescue missions we triggered on a safe containing
a huge sum of money belonging to the revolutionaries which I believe
they are using to buy guns and ammunition and it was agreed by all
parties present that the money WILL BE shared among us . Out of the
total fund, my share was $6,000,000 (six million US dollars).

I request your assistance in evacuating my share of the money,
which is $6,000,000, from here to you, provided you can assure me that
my own share is safe in your care until I have finished my service
here.

This is not stolen money and there are no dangers involved as I
have arrangements with a delivery agent who promised to deliver the
money to a destination of my choice.

I will reward you with $1 million upon completion of this project
while the rest is for my investment purposes.

An impassioned appeal I would like to make to you is not to discuss
this matter with any third party. If you have any reason not to
accept this offer, please destroy this email as it would be a shame
for me to leak this information.

I don't know how long we will stay here and I survived two suicide
bombings that caused me to beg for help because I will emigrate to you
to invest and start a new life, no longer a soldier.

If this proposal is accepted by you, please write back stating your
interest, including your most confidential phone numbers for quick
communication, and your home address where you would like the fund to
be delivered.

Once I have received your email with the information I will give
you all the laptops on when and how the delivery agent will deliver
the funds to you and he will get in touch with you before anything
goes further. Please get back to me .
