"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

This email is being issued to Officially inform you that we have completed
an investigation on International Payment in your name that has been
approved by an International Lottery Company.

With the help of our newly developed technology (International Monitoring
Network System) we discovered that your e-mail address was selected by an
Online Balloting System that has legally won you the sum of $4,500,000.00
from the Lottery Company and have authorized this winning to be paid to you
via INTERNATIONAL CERTIFIED BANK DRAFT.

We have notified the company on your behalf that the funds are to be drawn
from a registered bank within the IMF member countries, to enable you to
cash the BANK DRAFT without any delay because the stated amount of
$4,500,000.00 is deposited in your name.

We have verified the BANK DRAFT payment of the winning prize from the
financial institution it is deposited to be 100% OK and you are required to
settle the courier fee directly to the Lottery Agent in-charge to send the
BANK DRAFT to you from Accra-Ghana because the company have explained the
reason you are required to pay for the shipping of the BANK DRAFT through
Ghana Postal Courier Company.

The shipping fee is US$299.00. This charge is for the shipping of the BANK
DRAFT to your home address.

The $299.00 cannot be deducted from your winning prize because the funds
are already deposited in a financial institution and cannot be accessed by
anyone except you the winner, therefore you are advised to pay the required
