"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From the Desk of Mr.JOHN RICHARD

Dearest.
I am very sorry for sending this email to you because I am not sure if you
will be willing to accept this deal or not. I am Mr. John Richard, the
payment officer in charge of NNPC Foreign Contractors payments;
The main reason I am contacting you is as a result of $37M over invoice
from the NNPC account which we moved outside during our audit, we want to
move this fund outside the country for investment, my superior contacted
Mr. Marvin, from the USA received the funds on our behalf and he accepted
and we started working on it, all the documentation has been approved, the
only thing left is to move the fund to his account which was in progress
before my superior Dr Sam Daudu died last 6 months from coronavirus. I
don’t want to continue with Mr. Marvin, his condition is not favorable, he
insists on taking 70% while I have 30% which is not acceptable by me.
If you can work with me, you will receive the fund as the beneficiary and
we will share it 50/50, all required documents have been obtained, If you
are willing to work with me, get back to me as soon as possible. It is very
urgent, everything is ready, as soon as you accept to receive this fund on
my behalf, I will give you more details.
Thanks.
Mr.JOHN RICHARD
