"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: I would appreciate a reply at your earliest convenience.

Good day,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Mr. Raymond Yung. The Bank of England employs me as an external auditor.

My department covers all of Scotland and England. Through personal efforts, I found your contact information. A routine audit last month uncovered an investment account that has been dormant for six (6) years, with funds totaling just over ten million five hundred thousand British pounds (GBP). It is a requirement of UK banking regulation that the fiscal authorities are notified when accounts are dormant for this time period. Thus, the funds are able to be called in by the regulatory bodies and passed into the coffers of the United Kingdom government as unclaimed funds.

According to my investigation of the said account, the investor died in 2016-the exact time the account was last operated. I can confirm with certainty that the said investor died intestate, and no next of kin has come forward since then.

Using my insider leverage, I am confident I can secure the funds instead of allowing them to pass into the UK government's coffers as an unclaimed funds. Considering that you share the same last name as the investor, I would like you to act as the next of kin and extended relative of the deceased. That's why I need your participation and cooperation.

Although what I describe to you will smack of unethical practice, I want you to understand that an outsider to the banking world would find the internal politics of the banking industry abnormal.

Since you share the same last name, I am willing to put you in a position to direct the release of the deposit to you as the closest surviving relative.

It is very important that you keep the contents of this email confidential and respect the integrity of any information you come across as a result.
I have access to all the relevant documents, including the deceased's bank account details.

This will facilitate putting you forward as the claimant/beneficiary of the funds and ultimately transferring the money to any account nominated by you. You shall be rewarded for your part in this transaction with 50% of the total funds for your efforts, less any expenses. I shall however leave out the final details of this transaction until I receive an affirmation of your desire to participate.
Be assured that I am on top of the situation. No risk will be involved if you agree to come on board. Needless to say, UTMOST CONFIDENTIALITY is of vital importance if we are to successfully reap the immense benefits of this transaction. I guarantee that the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect us from any breach of the law.To affirm your willingness and cooperation with my proposal please put the email together and contact me through my private email { raymdyung @ gmail.com } stating the following :

(1) Full Name;
(2) Telephone, Fax, and Mobile Numbers;
(3) Postal Address:
(4) Occupation;

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Mr. Raymond Yung.
