"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Mr. Abu Ahmed

Greetings My Good Friend,

My name is Mr. Abu Ahmed, Although you might be apprehensive about my email
as we have not met before. My proposal is very important to me, so please I
want you to take the content of this mail very seriously. All I want is an
honest business transaction between us. First, I am from Burkina Faso in
Africa,I work with one of the prime banks here in Burkina Faso in Africa.

It has been 10 years now some greedy African Politicians used our bank to
launder money overseas through the help of their Political advisers. Most
of the funds which they transferred out of the shores of Africa were gold
and oil money that was supposed to have been used in developing the African
continent.

Reply me urgently, if you are interested. More details shall be sent to
you once I hear from you.

Best regards,
Mr. Abu Ahmed
