"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: READ AND CONFIRM BACK,

--
Hello dear,
It's my pleasure writing to you today. I hope you are doing well. I
got your email contact from a business directory and picked interest
in discussing a piece of important information, perhaps it might
interest you to participate. I am a heartbroken woman haven lost my
husband a few years ago after battling with brain cancer, until his
death. He was a successful businessman dealing in precious metals
(Gold and Diamond).

Before he gave up the ghost on that fateful day, he disclosed to me
the deposit he made in a particular bank outside my country of origin
valued at US$18.5 Million and handed over the deposit confirmation to
me. After the burial of my late husband, I have not found peace in the
family, facing all manner of life threats, therefore, I decided to
leave my country with my only son who is still tender to save our
lives.

The reason I decided to contact you is to confirm if you can partner
with me and receive the funds in your account while I come over to
your country for investment. I have the vision of going into the real
estate business, but if you know other lucrative businesses, you can
also suggest one. Currently, I am in an undisclosed location for
security reasons until I get your reply, we shall discuss other terms
and what will be your commission for your anticipated service. Thanks
as I wait for your reply,
Jennifer Kalo
