"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I greet you, dearly beloved beneficiary ,

My name is Fred Smith, and I work for the US Department of Treasury as
the deputy secretary .

We organized a program with the UN and the embassies and we all agreed
to cooperate and pay you $43,000,000.00 as compensation after numerous
investigations, social gatherings, and programs brought to our
attention how you had been scammed, defrauded, fooled, and taken
advantage of in the past, particularly in 2021–2022.

Since I have been designated and recognized as the only real person
who has your funds and can deliver them to you wherever in the world,
we are paying you with such a large sum so that you won't be too
greedy to accept any other offers from other people or groups of
people.

To enable me to get your money to your home immediately, all you need
to do is give your complete information, including your full name,
home address, email address, and a photo of yourself. Please also let
me know how you would like to receive your money.
