"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello Can I Trust you?

Hello Beloved

Can I Trust you? I am a dying man. I am 73 years old. My name is Dr Brian
T. Moynihan, a widow and a devoted Christian.

I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and stroke; I have approximately 2
month and 2 weeks to live, but what disturbs me most is the stroke which
has made me vulnerable. I am currently confined to a wheelchair, and am
being taking care by a nurse, I have been touched by God to donate what I
and my late wife have to you, to set up a foundation in my late wife's
name, help the motherless and less privilege, rather than allow my bank or
the government to use my hard earned money ungodly when am gone since we
had no children to inherit the fund.

I want you to carry out this task with my funds in any countries you deem
wise and my soul will be at peace with God when I die as my medical
situation is quite complicated and I might not be around for too long.

God works in mysterious and wonderful ways, I don’t know why I choose you
to carry out this task, but still I have no doubt you are the one God has
chosen for this and you will be rewarded as some part of my fund will be
mapped aside for you, but trust me, God has the biggest reward for you and
your entire generation.

As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you more details and the
contact of the Bank where the fund was deposited, and Instruct my attorney
to prepare the inheritance papers in your name to enable you merit legal
status of a Trustee Beneficiary and subsequently conduct the transfer of
funds to your bank account.

Kindly send your complete information and assure me that you will act
accordingly by using 60% of US$5.1M (Five Million One Hundred Thousand
United state Dollars ) for humanitarian purposes, set up an NGO foundation
in my wife's name ,help Orphans and less privilege while 40% of this funds
goes to you for humanitarian assistance.
