"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir/Ma,

RE: UNCLAIMED FUND.

Just Recently,The Presidency, Federal Government of Nigeria has
officially directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
and other Federal Government Parastatal and Agencies to release the
names of foreign Creditors whose foreign contract payments has been
delayed for long, more than a decade which is now termed an unclaimed
or forgotten fund.

In view of the above, there is a foreign contractor whose name showed
up on the list was the Name of a late foreign contractor, Mr. Leo
Junatan from Indonesia to the Federal Ministry of Petroleum and
natural resources and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC).

Therefore, I would like you and i to work together concerning this
late client's entitlement and to present you as the Next of Kin. The
payment of this fund will be processed in your name and address and
the fund released to you legally.

More on this issue will be discussed with you when you show interest
and willingness to this email business proposal message.
