"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE. DEAR OWNER

United Nations Inspection Services
Toledo Municipal Airport
IATA: TOL, ICAO: KTOL, GPS Code: KTOL.

Dear Owner,

This is to officially inform you that our agency is in possession of two trunk boxes that were shipped from the United Kingdom through a United Nations agent. During transport, the tagged rebel was damaged and the label became almost illegible.

These packages have been scanned and x-rayed in hopes of finding any information so we can resend them to the rightful owner but all to no avail, then we discovered, while x-raying those trunks that they contained a large amount of United States Dollars in $100 bills. We assume this was a transaction or transfer to you and that you are probably still expecting the delivery. (The total estimated sum is close to $10M).

Therefore, we have decided to resend these trunks to you if you can reconfirm your current address as well as your full name, and telephone number so we can start processing on how to resend them to you.

Best Regards,
Mr. David Ryan
